NOTES: First show after 9/11. Cast sings "God Bless America." Coming off the covid apocalypse, it seems so *small* now, but, it was a really big and--honestly--traumatic thing that Broadway was dark for even just a couple of days after the attack. So even though politics have...changed...since 2001, there is a HUGE amount here of an emotion that can't be put into words.

NOTES: A personal favorite! Great sound quality, and all three principals are excellent. (Kelli is one of a very few performers who I think can pull off Amneris---as with Maureen in RENT or Fantine in Les Misérables, so many people end up almost screeching to hit the high+loud notes. And of course I'm thrilled to have such a great audio/cast with Saycon as Aida.
